Odd Question

After Silver Seed was released as an expansion to Serpent Isle how did they end up including the Amulet of Balance?

If a player had already beat Serpent Isle and went back in and wanted to play Silver Seed from a saved game, was there any clue to go to Monk Isle for the amulet, or was it actually included in Serpent Isle before Silver Seed was released?

Don't you have to start from a new game after installing the add-ons?

I'd think so, too, as the ireg* files in gamedat would be all wrong for the expansion areas; not having the amulet of balance in old games would probably be a good thing, *if* they load at all.

The player would get a clue the first time they died, because Karnax would give you the amulet when he resurrected you.
FOV would've been a worse situation, since you wouldn't know to ask Lord British about the quakes, but there's a good chance you would stumble across the Isle of Fire by accident.

I should also note here that the Start-Up Guide for both expansions included explicit instruction on how to start the quest in case you were at a point where you wouldn't come across the information naturally.
