How is it?

hi, i recently came upon this site and it seems too good to be true. i really want to re-vist the Ultima 7 universe because its one of the best games ive played since i was a kid when it came out.
i run Win98SE, AMD Barton 2500, 512ram, ATI Radeon 9700 and SB Audigy 2.
have a lot of people had success with running this game on a similar system?
also, im thinking of getting the Ultima7 Complete Package from eBay. is there any difference when using the CD or the old 6 or 7 disk set?
Thanks a lot.

I got win2000, amd 2400, same radeon and same sb.
exult runs awesome. the cd's typically have the FoV and SS addons. and what the hell a 3.5" floppy? j/k. get the cd's.

stevelord:
exult should run fine on any pc that is capable of runing windows 98
(and newer versions) smoothly.
i use the ultima compilation that came with ascension, and that's more
than you'll ever need, for bg, si and the "mission disks" "forge of virtue"
and "silver seed" are included along with online manuals and other stuff.
however, _all_ my 3,5" disks (6 ultimas in original!) are unreadable and
i don't have any backups

although truer to the real-first feeling, you won't be able to enjoy the goodies offered by Forge of Virtue (unless of course you _also_ have the disks for Fov!).

Win XP
isnt it strange that that many guys with HIGH-END Machines play exult?

... and yet, I've been working on Exult all along on a K6/500.

I play exult on a celeron 366 with 128mb of PC66 SDRAM and windows 98
I also play it on my AXP 2000+.
I honestly cannot tell a difference in performance between them in EXULT, which tells me one thing: Good coding.
