I was wondering if there was any way to make new Ultima 6 games and use new graphics. I wanted to "continue" the Ultima Worlds series.

talking of nuvie, the site doesn't show any news since May.
Do you guys know if things are progressing?

You can edit the chunks and terrain with pu6e, but you can't change the art or change eggs to have a new story, etc.

I have nuvie's ChangeLog in
http://www.math.leidenuniv.nl/~wpalenst/cvs/
There definitely is progress.

Website changes are not relative to code changes.
Just look at pentagram.sf.net... Not many changes there but the code of the program has seen many improvements...

You might also want to check out this: ire.sourceforge.net
I also wish I could make my own Worlds of Ultima. The engine in Martian Dreams seemed very versatile and flexible.

Yeah, I've been looking at IRE, but it I don't know how that would work. I'll give it a try. More suggestions would be nice.

The IRE editor doesn't work for me, so that's off the list.

Mayhaps I could contact the original makers?
Anyone have an E-mail adress?

Nope.
Re: Nuvie - sounds like he does the same thing as I so often do - post the webpage once, and leave it to decay into oblivion as I work on code
pu6e's probably a good place to start for editing, worry about eggs and NPCs only after you've got the map to stick them in

But that would be a total waste since I don't have my own tileset, and I might not even be able to insert NPC's and eggs ever...

You would be, nuvie's definetly making progress. But remember, these things take time, I mean, look how long it took Exult to get to 1.0
(and Nuvie doesnt have a covenient amount of basework on the games scripting to work off as far as I know, and the Exult team did)
Im pretty sure if you had one of the World of Ultima games you could switch that ones tileset for Ultima 6's (although it might completly obsucate the gameworld since the tileset is probably laid out differently - ie. weapons in a different section, etc For a similar obfuscation, try switching U7 and SI's shapes.vga and see what happens
)

If I wanted to just switch everything into Ultima 6, I could just use pu6e with the martian dreams patch.

What I mean is if you have a tileset that's like the one your looking for you can switch that in
(sorta like how I stole a lot of SI's stuff to stick into U7 for my addon)

what do you mean? There are only three tilesets I can use. The one from Martian Dreams, the one from Savage Empire, and the one from Ultima 6! Martian Dreams is only half-way to what I need.

I dont know if there's a toolset for U6 to do it, but you could try mixing and matching with the three tilesets to get what you need.

I won't have the right stuff...
This is a great time for someone to volenteer to make one for both sprites and tiles! It wouldn't be that hard... They are all tiles.

Actually, I meant shouldn't.

Just out of curiosity, what are you planning to do? "Martian Dreams is only half-way to what I need." What did you mean by that?

It'll take place in the future of Earth. That's the only thing I'm going to say. I have it all thought out. I even have a lot of it written.
