You need the sound packs. The Downloads page has them. If you need any more help, just ask.

I'm running Mac OS X on a duel 1.2 Ghz G4 with 1.2 GB of DDRAM. I'm running Exult 1.1 beta and I have the jmsfx.flx in my data folder. I think how I'm fixing my cfg is wrong, because no sound works.
My cfg looks like this. Can you show me what its supposed to look like?
Yes, I have read the documentation. please help,

see
http://exult.info/docs.php#wave_sfx
An example of how the relevant part of exult.cfg looks with these packs:
jmsfx.flx
jmsisfx.flx
so looking at this and your config I'd say it should look like this:
jmsfx.flx
.
blackgate
/Users/joe/.exult/blackgate/gamedat
/Users/joe/.exult/blackgate
(default)
jmsisfx.flx
.
/Users/joe/.exult/serpentisle/gamedat
/Users/joe/.exult/serpentisle
here come the other not relevant to this problem things...
