Excuse me.
This post isn't on Exult, even if I'm a big fan of both it and the original Ultima 7.
I read a very old chat log somewhere on the net between Arctaxerses and other people about an old Amiga & PC game: Cadaver by bitmap-brothers (see http://www.gods-country.de/cadaver/cadframes_eng.htm).

I want to ask you if you know where to find documentation, it there is any, about Cadaver Fileformat (to make a viewer in win32).

Thank you, and good grat work on exult!

Man.. I loved that game. I even went to the trouble of making a walkthrough for it.. this was back in the days before websites like GameFaqs took off and a game only has to be released for a few days before the walkthroughs come out. :) I still have a copy of it laying around

I haven't heard of any projects to dump the file format of the game. Since it isn't a popular classic like Ultima 7 was/is, you'd probably need to diassemble the original game files to try out work out the file format.

Well... it's one of my favourite.
I have a floppy disk copy (PC version).

I'm trying to make some sort of new game inspired by Cadaver, but in real 3D (with an isometric look), because I can't find any hint about the original datafile format, and I'm not very good at reverse engineer the original files.

If you want to see an alpha of my project try on http://nehe.gamedev.net
In the download menu (on the right), select 'G'. My project is GAIA.
You can download it (with sources... C++).
Direct link: http://nehe.gamedev.net/data/downloads/G/gaia_v04_1.zip

If you find news about Cadaver and its fileformat, please tell me.

Thanx
Lem
