Am I missing something?

Hi again, old player of ultima 7 ...novice to exult and the whole file manipulation process. I'm trying to get my and my buddies ultima 7s up and running...he's even more of a non techie than I...but before I digress,

I thought I had my ultima 7/exult up and running all nice and proper until I tried to set his up for him. His lacks music...but it has the speaking parts in the introduction working. He has his speaker's x'd out on that one startup screen. I didnt have much time to screw around with his so I thought I'd go check my settings and see what was different.

When I got home I notice I too have my little speakers x'd out on that start up screen. But I never noticed a problem..I hear music/fanfare...etc
and the voice in the intro...so now I am wondering

Are there sound effects that I am missing? Like when in the cart..am I to
hear galloping or something?

I have read the faq...I can play midi's...I downloaded the most recent snap
shot (well unless there has been an update since 7 days ago) to correct items doubling in some chests.

So...can anyone tell me if I am missing some sound elements from the game ...sound effects maybe?

Assuming this is the case...maybe someone could help me fix MY problem
so I can move on to step two of fixing my buddies problem (total absence of music/sounds....besides the monkey/guardian?/demon? talking in the introduction.

The crossed out speakers indeed mean you won't get SFX. Read the docs/FAQ on how to correct this. (look for 'digital sound effects' or something similar)
