I just installed Ultima and Exult. The scene opens and goes to the point where the Avatar comes in and Iolo tells what happens. But when the mayor comes and I click on him ... no response. The same with Petre. Iolo is the only one that will respond.

What is up with that? Never seen anything like that before. Any idea?

Running Windows 7 64

My sound is from the mother board and I the a GTX 280 video card.

I don't know what version of Exult I have ... I installed the exultwin32 app.

Okay the Exult version installed is 1.5.0svn.

Do you mean the Knight's Bridge piece? It cannot be opened, it's not a chest.

Oh ... well thank you for that bit of info ... I was wondering. Any idea why no one in Trinsic will speak to the Avatar except Iolo?

Are they in combat mode? (the npcs that is)

Please download the latest snapshot from our download page, install that and run that and start a new game.
Make sure you have no patch or mod installed. If the problem persists, please send in stdout.txt and stderr.txt (see http://exult.info/faq.php#bug_report point 8). And tell us which version of BG you are using (floppy original or Classics CD-Rom, Ultima Collection...).

I got it going. I uninstalled exult, deleted all file ... cleaned the registry. I had two different copies of ultima7 so I used the complete ultima instead of collection. I created the ultima folder in the c drive. Created a ultima7 and serpent folder in that.

I unzipped the files from complete ultima7 disc into their folders on the c drive. I then went to the website and downloaded the latest exult and installed it.

After that I was able to play the game and the characters are behaving normally.
