Some bugs

Just a few bugs i've come across:
I have has many cases of item duplication happen to me, like cups turning into about 10 and I remember at iolo's house his crossbows in a chest turned into like 5 crossbows.
Sometimes upon opening a pack or bag etc.. a single item from the contents of the bag appears at the top left most position in the bag.
Buying jerky from the tavernkeep at the gargoyle town (I forget what its called) gives the player about 10 peices of dried meat even when the player only ordered 1.
I have had the game crash numerous times whilst arranging my inventory.
Sailing lord britishs ship has graphical glichs around the ship hold (same goes for some other ships) and on other ships there are graphical gliches when some characters sit in a chair (like a bit of the chair constantly appearing above the character)
attacking right with a flail or fishing rod has a graphical stuff up where the flail/fishing rod appears underneath the avatar everytime he attacks.
it would be nice if items kept their spot after loading a game like I have stated in my other post.
It would also be good if the horse and carridge movment animation was fixed by making the horses actualy move their legs most of the time the carridge is moving (I've found the horses can do a lot of sliding while moving at top speed in a horse and carridge)

Newest version. Windows 98.

Which version exactly? (There are three versions that would qualify as "newest version")

you do realise we need this info, don't you?
Anyways, start Exult and look at the first 10 lines of your stdout.txt file.

you do realize we still don't know the version you are running. That's why Artaxerxes suggested you look at stdout.txt (same dir as Exult.exe) and look at the first line which schould read:
Exult version ???
Please provide what you have written there instead of the ???

I'm not sure if the dried meat quantity is a bug. Don't they sell it to you in sets of 10?

Just some other things:
Wearing a ring of protection and facing the avatar either north or west while holding a halberd has a tiny graphical error, in which a row of black pixels (probably the halberd showing through) can be seen on the top of the avatars head.
In a paragraph lord british starts going about how the avatar should observe the people. He says 'break bread with the people' at some point. Is that supposed to be bake bread?
I downloaded the sound pack (black gate) And all the sounds work fine but every now and then (nothing seems to trigger it) I hear short 'zzzz' sounds (more like zzeeep)

ok, some answers:
the duplicating bug is a leftover from an older beta. We actually do recommend that you start a new game once it had been affected. If you observe it you will find that the items no longer duplicate. We stopped the bug but can't clean it up of course (without breaking things severly). So start a new game and best use the newest snapshot for this.
I have had the game crash numerous times whilst arranging my inventory.
Never saw this but it just might be related to the leftovers from above. Doubt it though. Also make sure if you have this with newly started games as well.
Graphical glitches... yep there are some ...

Nope, this is an old (biblical even?) expression. Someone you break bread with is someone you know and are (getting) friends with.
And all the sounds work fine but every now and then (nothing seems to trigger it) I hear short 'zzzz' sounds (more like zzeeep)
This could be triggered by a lot of things you don't see right away. Believe me something *is* causing this.

Thanks for the response, I will try to find what is making the sound (it seems to appear randomly, but I dont think its the birds chirping because I hear that sound fine)
Also, could it be possibly that the exult team could add all the extra detail from serpent isle into BG, like instead of saying kitchen item for heaps of things it actualy says spoon, knife etc.. when you click on it. And also add other stuff like doubleclicking on stoves to make that little fire animation and double clicking mirrors that make the avatar say he's handsome and stuff like that, oh, and making the avatar vomit after drinking too much. Is it easy to add this, seeing as its all in serpent isle? it shouldnt alter the BG gameplay at all seeing as most of it is completly useless, but makes the gameworld more detailed.

I recall hearing that 'Zzzzeeep' noise too. Usually in or around swaps, if I recall... and at night. Perhaps it's swap gases escaping... or more than likely crickets.

I seem to hear it everywhere, it sounds like a pc speaker sound, but doesnt come from there.

you can go to the sound tester (Alt-1) and go through all the sfx to find the one that annoys you. Then I can probably tell you what makes that sound.

Actually, I'm thinking of a completely different game that I'm hearing that "Zzzzzeeeep" noise from. It's from an old old old Intellivision game, probably 'Dungeons and Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin' or something like that. o.o
