Musket rounds

Hello, I never played U7 before, so i suppose this is a walkthough question. I was toldt hat you can get musket bullets from dinosaur bones, however the dinosaur bones are inaccesible except by cheating. Are there any accesible dinosaur bones, because if I wanted to cheat I would just use the console command to spawn bullets. Ive read several walkthrough, but none of them seem to address this question. Thank you in advance.

There are two that I know of. The first is due south of the pedestal of the Shrine of Sacrifice in the drylands.

The other is in the Test of Courage on the Isle of Fire; go through the test till you get to a place with golems, helmets and auto-lowering doors (in a u-shape) go straight past the second golem the the lower-right corner of the U and there will be the second skull.

Just doubleclick them and they drop their contents.

Also, it should be possible to make a staircase of crates to get to the two skulls on Ambrosia ;)

And: Save the game before claiming bullets.
Sometimes it drops 15, and you don't want that, then reload and try again. Best I got was 95 so far.

The real question here is... why would you use the musket in the first place? Heck, that's like... using Petra's wooden sword. o.o

Don't ask me, I never dared equipping it... I was too scared I or a companion uses it and kills half my party or something :P

The musket is fun to use, but it's not the most practical.

Can someone explain the Petra's wooden sword reference for me?

Perhaps he meant to say "Cantra".

Hmmm... all this talk about muskets is inspiring me to turn my party into a troop of musketeers. If only aim and "friendly fire" weren't factors... :-)

You might not have noticed, but Exult has as a feature (or bug) that only enemies are hit by projectiles.

Cool.

That means I can give Iolo his tripple crossbow back.

Actually I have my entire party using muskets. I edited the musket's shape info to give it the maximum damage value and equipped them all with it. I have yet to see friendly fire. And even when the enemy is right up on them, they still kill them with the musket. So there's really nothing bad about using it. It's just another weapon. I dont think the ultima games were ever designed to be smart enough to know when you can and cant really use a projectile weapon to fight with. Like say if they're too close to fire off an arrow in time, it should atleast automatically switch to a secondary weapon or give you a chance to do it yourself before continuing the fight. Lots of other rpg's do this feature and it'd actually make a great addition in Exult if someone was willing to work out the kinks in the idea. Could go one step further by adding an information screen or spots on the paper doll window where you drop your projectile and hand to hand weapons so the game already knows which to switch to when necessary.

I did mean Cantra. Heh. Petra and Cantra sound alot alike. o.o

You can't really buy extra musket ammo, can you? Only find them laying around here and there?

Thanks for the tip, DrCode! Ever since playing the original, Iolo and his triple crossbow left me traumatized regarding projectiles.

Hehehe... time to start the reign of the Avatar mafia :-) We're going to make Batlin an offer he can't refuse.
