dont have enought bread to sell (but i have like 7 breads !) also, i buy
flour in paws, but when i try to sell it it tolds me that i dont have any
flour with me :( is there something im doing wrong? i remember i was able
to sell the bread and the flour long time ago, but im not sure if i were
using exult that time.

Thanks a lot

Can you submit a bug report?

http://sf.net/bugs/?group_id=2335

Please attach a savegame where you have flour and bread in your inventory but can't sell it.

I have just noticed that if the bread is not in my inventory but on the shop floor (or a table) Willy buy it, and that what i had was not flour but cooking ingredients, but thats what i get from the baker at paws when i ask him for flour. its also strange that this "flour" cost me 12 gold and willy told me he would me pay me only 4 or 5 gold.

So myabe thats not a bug, but im buying the wrong thing. The weird thing is that i cant find any flour in paws, nor to buy or just as an item standing there.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Just tell me if u need anything else. thanks again

by the way, im playing with the spanish version, so some names may be wrong translated. thanks again

This is something weird I also noticed in the original. Willy telling you that he will buy flour for alot less than you can buy it (from the guy operating the mill in paws, I think)

I think the flour bug is in the original, since it's part of the scripting (usecode).

I think you're right, DrCode. The original U7 hint book notes that "Willy offers to buy flour, but he won't."

I think you can get him to buy bread in 5-loaf installments, I've not tried
with more than that.

If you have 7 bread, he should buy them (I think you need at least 5 before he buys). But he only buys the type that you can bake.

One annoying bug I remember in the original BG is that over time, parts of LB's castle gradually vanish (including the drawbridge!!!!!) (especially if you leave any items in the place!!) That is one original bug I sure as hell better not see in Exult... EVER!

Heh heh heh. One time, I decided to repetedly kill the horses in that fenced field in the south part of Britain in order to crank up my XP total - wanted to see how high it would go, having recalled the U6 cap. All of the resulting meat that I harvested, I started stashing in and around the castle, in various containers.

By the time I hit level 10 or 11 (can't remember which), with all of the resulting item overload, I had chunks of all of Britain flickering in and out of existence, not just the castle.

Oh, yeah, now that you mention it, I remember most of Britain being subject to this bug, and not just the castle. Oh, how I hated that bug!!

It is because the game requires LOTS of memory. The Voodoo Memory Management System did a great job swapping memory to the hard drive so we could play the game. Creating so many items used up all the memory, resulting in the engine not being able to show all of them at the same time. Those not fitting in memory were written to the hard drive, then the items showing on screen would be swapped with those in the hard drive, and the process would repeat indefinitely, resulting in item flashing/flickering.

Castle Britannia has a high item count, so leaving tons of items there slowed down the original game and made ceilings disappear in the best of cases. In the worst of cases, the swap file would fill the entire disk and the game would crash. I don't know how Exult manages this, but I guess it will be less likely to happen, as we have more memory than what our computers had when we played with the original engine, and the operating system is the one in charge of memory swapping.

Mainly, we assume you have loads of memory:-) Anyway, I played U7 the first time on a 486 with 4Mb, and didn't see the problem.
