Don't beleive the rumours! Cabal is real. In short, Cabal is a combination of a number of Open Source reproduction game engines, including Exult and ScummVM. Visit the ScummVM website for the details: http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/.

A few of us have been working on this for a while now... why do you think that developement of Exult itself seems to have stalled a bit lately. Few cvs commits if any.... it's because we've been busy working on Cabal.

This business of the Exult code being stolen.... that's just BS, all just a joke. We all helped write this code, and if we want to be part of cabal, then we will be! Exult's code is Open Source, so it's not like it can be stolen anyway.

And here is some screenshots of Exult running under the PocketPC 2003 emulator thanks to the wonder of Cabal. Something that people have been asking for, for oh so long now:

LOL, it's a very good April Fool. Not as good as the merger of Exult with EA a couple of years ago!

Bah. ScummVM and Exult in same binary? Plausible.
Exult and Ultima IX runtime in same binary? Bordering on blasphemy, but tolerable.
Exult and Final Fantasy emulators in same binary? HERETICS!!!! BURN THEM!!!!1!!!!!1!

So of course this was a joke.

How?!?!

Colourless is the only one who can run Exult on a Pocket PC EMULATOR (yet). If you read up a bit on (I think) last weeks #exult logs you may learn a bit more of how he did it.

Incredibly offtopic, but how did you get those real time IRC logs to the web? Is that some sort of bot or utility? I'd love that for my IRC channel

exultbot is a very hardcore listener on #exult and a couple of other channels (#pentagram,#nuvie,#uwadv,#low) . He rarely speaks but he is a good listener

And he can type very fast.
