Are there any kind of journal or questbook in Ultima VII? It would help.

Press 'N' (for notebook) and you'll see a type-your-own notebook in game. If you're looking for U9 style notebook, sorry, not here.

I pressed N but nothing happened :/
Now i have writed notes to notepad, but it would be better if there's really ingame notebook. Do i need to pick it up somewhere? I remember in UO you could write your own books and stuff.

Do you use exult or dosbox? If exult, what version? The in-game notebook Andar talked about exists only in exult 1.4.

I was using exult 1.2, maybe i will update it to 1.4 then.

Don't forget that 1.4 seems to have issues at the moment. There was somebody who had a build from before these issues, but I don't remember who.
