outstanding bug

in BG, when you place items to open Penumbra's door, they don't disappear.
I've got a savegame to show it.

Using one of the latest CVS (from 2004/05/20).

The items themselves never vanished in the original.

You placed the item and the plaque changed to tell you what to put there next.

When you get the key, you can just pick all your stuff back up. Heck, even right after putting the correct item down you can get it back straight away too.

You can unbold this topic now. ;)

Artaxerxes! Read the FAQ! You are a Dev, you know better! The forum is not the correct place for bug reports, especially ones that don't appear to be bugs. :-)

As far as I know, the topic can't be unbolded. It automatically happens when any of us who are 'moderators' creates a topic.

That is absolutely incredible. I was absolutely positive the items would disappear if you put the down! You would normally see a little magical flashy thing and the item would go away and the text would change to indicate the next item. I just can't believe it!
The key appeared fine and all is well. And I was actually on my way out when I posted the bug, so I thought the fastest way to inform you was to post the message here. Mind you, this way, I can also get to see other ppl's point of view and seeing the items are not supposed to disappear really turn my head upside-down. Sorry again for posting the (seeming) bug report here.

Ok, It's just that bolds are usually announcements or something. :)

But I know how you feel about that thing too, there's been a few times I thought that something was supposed to happen, but going back to check it, I was wrong.

well when i play serpent isle and woman starts to ask the copy protection questions and when in last question i put the correct number and click ok,the game freezes and crashes :(

Merkur: that works fine for me. Any details? (Version of exult, version of SI, etc...)
