Unable to save games in SI :(

Whenever I try to save the game in SI, the screen goes oddly coloured then kicks me to desktop.
I'm running the beta release on windows 98.
Stderr says : Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)
Stdout:Listing 1 Save games
