Forge and silver seed

First off, thank you sooooo much for creating Exult. I installed U7 1&2, installed Exult and the game started perfectly!

The one little problem I have is the forge of virtue. My main screen (after choosing U7 pt.1 or pt.2) states "The Black Gate" and "Forge of Virtue". I've played the game before so I know that there is supposed to be an earthquake and Lord British tells you to investigate. But none of that has happened. I installed the game from the Complete Ultima VII cd-rom. I did a search on the board for this problem and found something like it, but I'm not sure if it's the same problem. If you have any ideas about what might be going on please let me know. I have exult 1.1.10rc2 installed.

Well, I decided to try something. I went ahead and flew over to the Forge of Virtue island. I talked to the statues and had a little look around. I couldn't talk to the old mage because he was asleep. Anyway, I think it will probably work alright, but I'll keep a emergency saved game ready just in case it doesn't.

Weird... I own the Ultima Collection CD, and the earthquake always happens when I start a new game.

Sometimes mine does, and sometimes mine doesn't. Not saying when I start new games, but when I install the games again like after a reformat of my hard drive. On some installs it gives the earthquake, and sometimes it doesnt. My latest install of it, with the newest snapshot of exult, I don't remember the earthquake happening.

Just tried. Exult 1.1.10rc2 under Linux. The earthquake happens right after iolo finishes talking and before Finnigan initiates a conversation.

Maybe you have the exult setting set that skips the talk with Iolo? I think it's the "play first scene" in the pre-game setup menu, or 'skip_intro' in the config file (confusing name, yes...).

I'll try to play that first scene and see if that works. Even if it doesn't, I think that the add-on will still work.
