Hi all
I've played SI to Moonshade, after the Mountain of Freedom and after reassembling the party. After picking up the final party member and going about my business, I noticed that the secret door in the tall staircase to the magic shop was closed, even though I had opened it before going to the Mountain of Freedom. Puzzled, i opened the door/wall, quick-saved and headed down the stairs behind. The screen then turned black. I pressed Command+x and then y. This quit the game, so apperantly it hadn't hung.
I stated Exult, only to find the Exult menu screen replaced with a black screen with a few bits of graphics around the center. This included a red X, but very little else. The game then hung, forcing me to hard-reset my computer. I tried this a few times with the same result.
I tried deleting all the Exult files, including the Static folder. I compressed the savegame files in my home folder, put the .zip file on my desktop and deleted all the savegame files. I 're-installed' Exult, complete with static folder, and started it again, thinking that whatever caused the game to crash could no longer exist. Wrong, it did. Same result.
So now what? How do I stop Exult from crashing upon being loaded? I've deleted all relevant files I could find, so what else is there?

Re: Exult crashes upon being loaded
It's most likely caused by the gamma values in your exult.cfg file being set to a very low value. exult.cfg is stored in ~/Library/Preferences on Mac OS X, if I remember correctly.
Either remove the gamma section entirely (everything between and ) or set all the values back to 1 manually to get the normal display back.
We'll try to fix the bug that causes these low gamma values to get written to disk...

Thanks again, that worked perfectly
(I set the values to 1)
