I just wanna tell everybody here, mostly to the spanish people around that Dantoine has finally released the first public beta version of the spanish translation of ultima VII. This version includes the Forge of Virtue expansion, which was not translated in spain. It still has many bugs, but we will soon fix all of them (I hope hehe).

I know, it´s the team of that site, and myself, who have done the translation. I know it´s an abandonware site, but in the part where you can download ultima VII (I don´t wanna discuss the morality of downloading the game itself... if you think it´s a bad thing, simply don´t download it) you can download the patch to translate the game.

I couldn't care less that you've translated it. No linking to sites where you can download the games! NO EXCEPTIONS!

As far as morality and eithics go in regards to the so called abanondwear aka a nicer word to use other than piracy of old games/programs. It's wrong. Plain and simple.

When you cant buy the game how can you steal it?
I love ultima VII i had it once threw it out / or misplaced it, i would like to know where to get it again pls mail me on this subject:UltimaVII:BLACKGATE.
Then if i could i would but i cant so i will STEAL something that can't be bought.

It's not 'ok' to steal something that can't be bought. That's the whole point
of 'collectors' limited prints of paintings and such. I could justify nicking
the Mona Lisa by your faulty logic, after all, I can't buy it!

Unless the software has been released into public distribution by the
developer/publisher, 'Abandonware' *is* piracy. Period. The problem is it's
a word used mainly by those who aren't willing to stand up and say,
"What' I'm doing is illegal, but I belive the *law* to be wrong, and so I
continue to do it.", rather they hide behind made up words, and made up
'laws'.

In any event this is *not* the place to protest Copyright Laws That
Suck(tm), and given I need to be up in less then 5 hours to go to work, I
should be sleeping rather then arguing about them.

Well, guess what, Black Gate is still sold. If anyone is interested, I found some "EA Compilation" CDs at $8.95

They are EA-produced CDs with 10 old games, including Black Gate, Ultima Underworld, Savage Empire. The only inconvenient is it has no manuals, just the games.
