in Serpent Isle, ive noticed that the triggers seem to...not trigger. Example, Geting Captin Hawk out of prison, got the gold, gave it to the guard, opened the cell...he would not leave, and didnt count as being out according to everyeone else, but i couldnt give more gold to the guard. that was fixed by..well..having sex with a barmaid...>.> problem is thats not the only thing thats gone wrong, now im on moonshade, ive got bloodmoss, and guess who is too freaking stupid to realise i have it...thats right, and i cant get to the mad mages isle so im quite screwed at this point. BG ran perfectly, but SI...needs signifigent work.

First of all, you need to talk to Captain Hawk in the jail, then wait for him to leave the room. If you go before he gets to the stairs then he hasn't been 'released'. But you can just go back down and wait for him to leave.

As for the bloodmoss, did you get enough? I'm pretty sure he wants a certain amount (and you are talking to Pothos the Apothecary, yes?). And he did ask you to get the bloodmoss, didn't he? If he hasn't then you can't give him any

I also left Hawk in the jail... I just went back there, talked to him, and waited for him to actually leave.

Note he doesn't go up the stairs - there is only one real level to the game. He teleports away when he reaches them. When that happens, he turns up in the bar (maybe with a different NPC number? I dunno).

Mad mage: Pothos will not give you the blood moss quest until you speak with Bucia about Pothos.
