My feelings about Dupre

I would like to take this opportunity to announce that the latest addition to my adventuring party, Dupre, is a moron. No matter how long he studies, no matter how much gold I spend on tutors for him, and in spite of an incredible 30 INT, the dullard can't seem to find his way around Brittania. He's always lagging behind, getting lost in dungeons, and taking forever to make his way around corners and through doors in Brittanian towns. sup wi' dat?
What's more: when we're taking a seat on the magic carpet, he sometimes just stands there, unable to find his way around Iolo or Sentri to an empty seat. "Look, Dupre," I say, "there's a vacant seat right next to Shamino! You like each other, right?" But no, he just stands there, with a vacant expression on his face.
He's totally cleaned up, sober for four whole days of game time, so it can't be the drink. Maybe jacking his INT to 30 was a bad idea; it's possible I've ruined Dupre with overeducation, and he's so overwhelmed by the contemplation of the possible ramifications of his actions that he's just struck mute, unwilling to commit to any sort of positive action or stance; another case of postmodern paralysis.
?
(or maybe it's just how the pathfinding algorithm was implemented.)
(and no, i didn't actually train dupre up to 30 int.)
(not a complaint, just an observation.)
