I was wondering about the in-game journal (the 'n' key).

I wrote a few entries in the journal, saved it, restarted Exult and reloaded my saved game and what I wrote in the journal was still there, so I starting using it regularly. Now for some reason, a few saves later, everything I wrote is gone.

Does the journal save permanently to your saved game or is it just temporarily saved?

I really like the journal feature and I wanted to write about the quests and stuff I did in the game.

Yes, it's supposed to be saved permanently, so this looks like a bug.

It's not just in the newest snapshot, I remember a few months back it never saved either...

I found out how to reproduce this bug. It happens when you load a game and don't open the notebook. Then when you save the game the notebook is overwritten with the blank entry. I wonder if you can load the notebook information when loading a saved game instead of when pressing n for the first time.

So for now all I have to do is open the notebook every time I load my game?

Yeah, just be sure to open it sometime before you save the game.

I'm sure DrCode or Marzo can fix it relatively easily.
