I really do think that it has to do with Windows 9x. People report nothing but grief with it. If anyone has it working correctly on Windows 9X, please come forward so we know that is not the issue.

Never had any problems in Linux. You should give it a try
Or at least try Win2k or WinXP.

Yep, i'm running Windows 98SE as well, and I have the EXACT same problem that noah has.

No point posting the stdout content as it's pretty much the same, just with a different path for where my games are located, and yes, i've triple checked them and they are correct. I've also tried both an absolute path, going from C:/ onwards, and also just a relative path by just going Ultima7 and so on (which you can see in the above error messages).
What I'm finding odd is that the studio_err file is coming up with all these folders like 'map01' and so on. These don't exist in any place within the folders that I can see, and trying to create them myself did nothing either. Just the same old errors.

I can only add that in the past I've used Exult and ExultStudio with Win95OSR2, but this was a much older version of Exult. Whatever incompatibility exists could have been there for a while now.

I'm thinking that it must be a recent addition as I got it to work on this machine previously. So pobably in the most recent snapshot, or onedone in the last 6 months if there were any.

The troubles with ExultStudio probably have to do with the fact that I do all my development on Linux, and then Colourless ports to Windows. But I don't believe he has Windows98 or the time to deal with it.

Well thanks for the info guys, I guess I'll wait a little bit till' I upgrade
my system to Windows XP. If someone finds a snapshot that works on Windows 98 SE please let me know what version I need. For now I am stuck using RPG maker 2000, its ok but no comparision to an Ultima 7 editor! Exult is really cool just for the fact I can play U7 again! Keep up the good work! No one makes games like this anymore and I don't know why.
