Just a post to say that Exult Studio Guides is now available at:

There are only downloads available right now, including Alun's Quests & Interactions Mod, but Guides will soon follow.

If you have any wrote (or want to right one), feel free to submit it (you just have to register).

Take care,

Very nice, and pretty cool that you got that domain name, too.

New Usecode Guide

Hi all,

I'm working on a new guide for Usecode, called "Usecode for Dummies".

It go's over the basics, how to create an NPC in Studio and then program it with Usecode. There is even a section at the start covering the basics of programming, for people with very little knowledge.

That section is complete, I'll be moving on to Usecode Eggs next.

Right now all the examples are seperate .txt files (which can be downloaded, renamed and compiled). Later (for the final version) I'll add them to the guide itself, so they are easier to read.

It's a work in progress and I'd really like to know what people think.

I should have the next section within a day or two.

Thank you,

Tawn

Nice. I really like the step-by-step guide to creating an NPC and writing usecode for it.

Thanks Dr. Code.

That's how I plan to continue the guide, I want to keep it as open as possible to beginners (maybe those who don't want to necessarily program but want to create a game/mod).

I'd like to see a guide on how to decompile and modify existing usecode.

Nice work on the NPC step by step guide. *thumbsup*

Hi Tristan,

Funy you should say that, because I was talking to someone about that just the other day and I think they will be writing a Decompile guide soon.

(Won't mention names in case they haven't the time).

Thank you,

Tawn
