I have downloaded the "latest" snapshot, and it only caused problems, being when i clicked on the avatar, the game was terminated. Is there any other snapshots i can download that may work with v1.2 of exult?

You downloaded the snapshot of what? Exult Studio? You'll need the snapshot of exult as well.
If you downloaded exult, I don't see why it has to work with v1.2 (unless you mean savegames)

In any case, post your stderr.txt and stdout.txt which sghould be in the directory where you installed exult

what im tryin to do is be able to use exult studio while playing with exult, only problem is that it only works with snapshot 1.4..which causes lockups, errors and sometimes it just closes without warning.

The only way around that would be compiling Exult 1.2 and Exult Studio from around that time for yourself but then you would miss on Studio features.

What Operating System are you using Exult & Exult Studio (your stdout misses crucial parts in the beginning hich would ahve told me that)?

how do you start Exult Studio? You should start it from Exult so the connection between the two programs is established properly

How would i do that, i have exult installed in the same directory as ultima 7, then i have exult studio also installed in that same directory, however, when i press ctrl-alt-m to bring up the map editor, exult studio doesn't load...i then went to the file menu and went to establish connection but that also didnt work
