Can anybody suggest me some free software either in NT or in Linux to play the RealAudio .RA files?

Yes, you can get RealPlayer G8 for Linux. Works great.

As I recall, Netscape used to include a RealPlayer with it (free). I don't remember the version of Netscape, though... maybe it's Sibcon (Netscape Russian version)?

There's a realaudio plugin for winamp somewhere that I used to have.
Search the plugin pages on winamp.com I think. Or just use google.

The fact that Real has recently discontinued it's free versions of RealPlayer may be a problem.
