When does Petra join me? I went to the shrine of discipline after I released the Banes, brought Gwenno to Monks Isle, and brought the ancient scroll there. I got killed by the acid, and went back to Moonshade to get Petra. She only tells me that her life is without sense and she does not have enough courage to join me.

Have I missed something, or is it a glitch?

did you see the vision on the monk island?

Yeah, you have to see the vision. You'll know it when you see it.

You have to had entered the acid area and hurt yourself before you can ask her to do it.

Actually, you made perfect sense except for the 'Elude me.' part. Much
more so than the other non-natively-English-speaking people on this
forum.

IIRC to trigger Petra talking on joining one must:

( saw the vision ) AND ( ( step into the acid) OR (read the book on body transference)).

Somebody can try to dig to the usecode to prove this.

you need to do all 3 not just 2

I'm pretty sure that in most of my original SI games I never entered the acid chamber before getting her to undergo transference. Is it possible that talking to that automaton upstairs also counts for this purpose? (The one who croaks out about dying in acid.)

I read it first, then loaded an older savegame, and forgot to read it again before talking to Petra. Case closed. Court dismissed.

Actually you don't need to see the vision (at least in the original version) all you
need to do is read the book on the transference chamber. If you go to Moonshade
the option will appear. Also, she will never leave the party, EVER unless you ask
her to do so. So you can keep her until the end of the game.

Just make sure you do Silver Seed before you get Petra in the party. I wound up leaving her in the past when I originally got the addon, as I used my final save from the original SI to play SS. My party left me for the Maze and when I got out Petra wouldn't rejoin.
