Im playing ultima 7 and hit a snag. Does anyone know how to get Rowena (in Skara Brae) to follow you after you cage the liche. I've tried everything I could think of.

Use the music box?

You simply have to talk to her (of course, make sure the SEANCE-spell is active). There is an option to ask her to follow you, but be aware that you must have a free slot in your party, else she will say that there are too many people in your party.

Yes, make sure the Seance spell is active. Mine always crapped out after I used the Soul Cage on Horance.

When I try to talk to her or use the music box it says shes totally oblivious to anything I do.

Also, a little off topic, does anyone know whats up with the big x with the box of junk and glass swords around it? Its located in the far north west of the main continent.

Several other people already mentioned it, but generally if someone on Skara Brae is "totally oblivious to anything you do", it means you don't have seance on.

I seem to remember that seance wears out at midnight, so there's a big chance that it wore out right after you un-lich-ed the lich

I know that Seance never wore off for me while playing the original U7, and I've played that game LOTS of times. I guess I might've been lucky, though.

With that seance spell, it never wore off for me either.

Plus you don't even need it after the ferryman, mordra will cast it for you.
