Where is Vanesta Bloodrose? I've searched all over but can't seem to find her in the Lake District!

You sure picked an interesting place for such a question. I suppose since U1 had a princess in it, this cannot be totally off-topic even here. ;)

Check the southeasternmost island with the big flower and a chest on it, just walk around on that island for a few days and she'll appear.

Is this an adventure game? RPG? I've never heard of it.

It wasn't released anywhere but in Japan, I think. There is an English version floating around on the Internet, though, which I think is a leaked beta.

The game is sort of a parenting-simulator in a fantasy world, where you have to raise a daughter given to you by a diety. You have to send her to different kinds of teaches, find her a job, take her on vacation, buy new clothes and things for her. If you choose to train as a warrior/mage, there's also an adventuring part where you can walk around and fight monsters and find treasure.

Stats for the daughter include things ranging from "father-daughter relationship" and "bust size" (!) to the more standard things like strength and constitution. The gameplay is okay, but nothing special. It should appeal to fans of Harvest Moon, I suppose.

Thanks Mimu!
I found her at last! Whew! I'm impressed you could still remember that piece of info after so long!

That looks pretty cool. Is this for the PC? Where can you buy it?

You can find it on abandonware/otaku sites...but it's a little odd. It's a tiny bit creepy if you really think about it. Especially controlling how your daughter falls in love with...You(!) are one of the candidates.

Play the "DAting Sim" for a similar type of game, where you play a typical Japanese boy trying to get the sex.

Dating sim, eh? Hentai games are possibly the weirdest things to come out of Japan. and a lot of weird things are made in Japan (Tamagotchi, anyone?)

I once saw screenshots of 'Three Sisters' Story'. Oh dear, certain Japanese people are bizarre. but then, certain people of every nation are bizarre.

True, true, though the Japanese are something extra. Just check out www.engrish.com for a laugh. ;)

I read somewhere in a hint guide for Princess Maker 2 that there's a hidden cheat to create an item that would make your daughter appear naked. That is pretty sick considering she starts out as a very young kid. :P

It's a cool game. I think in my serious effort of it I ended up making her the royal wizard or warrior or something like that. She was strong in both magic and fighting. I won all the magic and fighting tournaments and even got that fighting gods sword thing.

But in another one I did for fun in the end she ended up a homeless whore. That was funny.

And whenever a merchant or the prince came around asking for the hand in marriage I pissed them off. :D

Princess Maker 2 is a strange game, for sure, but a lot of fun. Very open ended as well.

I have the game and would be happy to post a link to it, if that's:

A) Wanted
B) Allowed

After all, it is "abandonware" and as most of us know there seem to be moral and legal issues surrounding the distribution of such software. Personally, I don't care in the slightest. :) I'm all for handing it out ...

Not like the English translation is on sale anywhere anyway...
It was thought too sexist at the time and then there were some contract problems so afaik the only English version available is that beta.

I once got my daughter to become the sovereign Princess of Darkness, ruler of the Underworld, by the right of her own hand! :D Ending score was something like -800. ;)

Thanks, but please don't post it here. We don't want anyone complaining about this site.
