Britannia Heightmap

I've been working on a project to re-visualize Britannia. Originally, I started by using the Black Gate map, but I found there are a number of issues with the in-game map; slightly fewer (but still some) with the paper map. One of the main issues is the z-position of terrain is nowhere near correct, and does not allow for as much versatility as I would like.

Does anyone have a map of Britannia, either from Ultima 4, 5, 6 or 7, in one of the following:

Elevation map (like a surveyor would use)
Digital Elevation Models (DEM)
Algorithmic heightmap

I'm in the process of creating one from scratch, by editing the U7 map and doing a pass through to recreate geometry, but this is a huge undertaking. If someone has something already, it would save much time. I know any heightmap would have to be modified to fit within the z-axis allowed by Exult, but having this would be a huge benefit.

Thanks all!

While I don't know for sure yet doubt that what you ask for exists, it shouldn't be difficult to adjust terrain height. I'm doing it for the S.E.T.C. project, by replacing the original game's mountain tiles with "blocks" of varying heights, and am experimenting with shading of "blocks" to create a hill effect. I thought about doing a mod down the road for U7, if my experiments work out, but will probably work on the cyberpunk story for the next project.

Hey man,
I have been working on something like this also, but very slowly.

I was inspired by this project.

I have a thread at the cartographer's guild:

You have to login to see it, but it is free. I have made one heightmap out of DEM's as a quick test, but it isn't very accurate.

The DEM on the first page was a little deformed compared to the traditional Britannia map. You have a very good start on page 2, and I'll look forward to more being done on this. I love the plate tectonics model!
