Exult Forum

I picked up Ultima VII off of GoG a few months back after so many recommendations (it wasn't even on sale, which is almost unprecedented for me) and I think it's grand. I'm really excited about Exult is well, but I cannot seem to change the keybinds. Being so used to modern WASD control schemes, I just find the default binds very awkward.

I've looked at the instructions on site here and have followed them, as best as I can see, to the letter and have even tried modifying the default key binds file, with no effect at all.

I'd really like to figure out how to change binds so that I can get optimal enjoyment from this great game - any help would be appreciated.

um... just use the mouse?

Once you edited the keyfile you need to point at the file http://exult.info/docs.php#exult_keys
If that doesn't work, please write what you did and copy paste both your exult.cfg AND your key file
