How can I get Ultima 7 to work?

Hey i have a 2012 mac with mountain lion. I love Ultima 7 and really want to play it, can someone please walk me through this? Thanks!

First which version of u7 do you still have?
If it is a CD version there is some kind of description how to get to the files. If you have the floppy you probably need a windows pc which still has a floppy drive.
Once you have the files place them as described in the paths stuff in the documentation. And then download exult (best a snapshot) and start it

I bought the game from GOG and downloaded it. It gave me a folder named (setup_ultima7_complete.exe). I have no idea what to do now. Do i move the folder to a certain location? What is the location? And yes i have exult downloaded.

Unfortunately you need to have some kind of Windows to install that first to get to the game files. Either through a real Windows machine, boot camp or Wine. That's the only thing I really dislike about gog.com - that you don't have easy way to get the game files on a non-Windows machine ;(

dang, i had a feeling that was the problem. They should put that in the documentation or the faq. I don't have a windows machine, and I don't want to buy a version of windows for bootcamp, so I think wine is my only option? I don't have much experience in this area of computers. Can you walk me through what to do with wine? Thanks for the help!

GOG just released OSX installers for some games. I have no idea why they were so stupid as to not have installers for OSX Dos games to begin with though. For some reason, Ultima 7 doesn't have an OSX installer atm.
They actually say BS like
will be playable on the Mac OS X for the first time ever--exclusively on GOG.com

lol that quote is too funny! Hopefully they release a installer for OSX soon.
