For some reason, no mandrake root is loading on monk isle. I dont need it for spells, as I have the ring of shal, however I need it do give to fedibiblio so I might get a spell book!

I am using a few day old snap shot.

Have you waited for the tide?

You have to talk to one of the monks about mandrake root.
He will tell you that they pop up when the tide is high (or low, at least its a tide thingy), but that its not yet time.
so wait abouts, sleep, eat, do whatever you do and talk to that monk now and then. After a while will he tell you that NOW is the time. And just then will the mandrakes spawn at the swamp.

I think you need to talk to the nameless monk, who will tell you when the tides are right to get the mandrake root - then it'll appear near the swamp at the northern point of the island.
