Ultima6 Remake and Plot?

I pray to all the wisp in the forest that this is finished soon. Does anyone know how soon? And if the plot will have new additions like u6project did? I never finish u6project as it always slowed to a crawl bout 1/3 into it. But I like the exult engine much better then DS, and better then the accession engine, too.

Well, thank you so much for the recreation. And your efforts. You will be remembered as an ultima god :) I did like how u6 project added the gargoyles attacking trinsic. That gargoyles declared war on britannia. But actually hated much of what u6 project did. I tried to start a new game but it was already slow in the castle so I just stopped. I tried replaying false prophet original but Exult has spoiled me. I love the engine and think the later ultima's can't touch the look and feel of this version. Thank you again.

In my mod there are a few areas of gargoyle invasions but mostly they will be in outposts that were hastily put up once the gargoyles started attacking shrines. The gargoyles have a main outpost near Hythloth since it was the main way to get into their land so it would make sense they'd keep that avenue of attack open. No town invasions or attacks in my mod even though some characters in U6 mentioned random gargoyles straying in and attacking outside or in a town. (LB's castle, and outside of the Empath Abbey area come to mind).

I like the idea of gargoyles having set up fortifications around Hythloth. Maybe also in front of the Guardians by the Codex? They do mention in the original Ultima 6 that they tried to approach the Codex. It makes sense that they'd make camp there both to keep humans from getting to the Codex and try and figure out if there's a way to weasel in past the Guardians.

Oh, and please make certain there are absolutely no gargoyles to be found anywhere near Skara Brae, so blaming Quenton's death on them is silly.

Our the underworlds separate maps, as in original u6? Id so maybe a larger version of the gargoyle island at the bottom. I wonder if their world will have more activity then original u6, like gargoyle music bands (similar to automation band in SI). I found it strange that their was little explanation for gargoyles in SI, But it makes since that their were. Was the furnace gargoyle built? Or did they occupy an abandoned ophidian post? If gargoyles built it then maybe they have other under ground cities.

Crowley- actually I am using some of the unused flying gargoyle sprites in that area to attack any ships that come by. I believe either Leodon or Leonna mentioned a gargoyle attacking her ship by air and stealing a ham, so it makes sense to have some aerial attacks nearby, especially since they'd have an interest in trying to weasel past the statues and grab the codex like you said. No gargoyles will be seen near Skara Brae, and Quenton's death will be solved in a way that will line up with the events mentioned in U7. :D

jannascurse- Yes the underworld is on a seperate map. I've not started on the gargoyle world yet. I probably won't expand on the gargoyle world too much since the original storyline said that it was the last remaning gargoyle city since the rest of it fell off into the void. Although, it might be interesting to make remnants of other gargoyle cities that might have been destroyed but not completely fell into the void yet. Like chunks of land still around here and there with crumbled buildings and maybe some still somewhat intact. this could also provide some interesting sideplot options as well... perhaps some gargoyles stranded and cut off from the rest of society still react hostile even if the Avatar wears the amulet of submission.

^^ or perhaps those gargoyles were cut off at such a time that they are unaware of the Avatar being the False Prophet.

sounds awesome. Can you sail around the world. Thought is was funny that you couldn't in the original. I remember the first time and wanted to get to sutek's castle from minoc and encountered the stars. "WTF!" Thats was the commodore version which sparkled still but the spell fields didn't animate. Like the electric field didn't and looked funny.

Since U7/Exult wraps around, this mod should do so, too. But of course I'm also just waiting for the demo, so don't know for sure ;)

Yes it will wrap around... I *could* make it like the original with the void on the corners but it never really made sense to me..

Actually now that I think about it, maybe it was a prelude to the other lands being somewhere still out there, but no longer accessible. Like SI. But u7 returned to wrap around. I wonder how many books can be in the exult engine.

virtually unlimited books as far as i know. Whatever quality tops out at, maybe 255? each quality is a different book. You could duplicate the book shape and make more if you somehow happened to get a book for each quality.

I was thinking of making a cave drawing sprite, if you would like one. It would be authored by zog and can show a wisp 'talking' to a cave man. And maybe a wisp could inhabit this cave which the cave drawing is found. I was thinking that if the player clickes on the cave drawing then a graphic could appear (like books appear when clicked on) showing the drawing in better detail. Will draw it tonight.

Well, I was thinking that the cave art might need to be stacked and have more then one making it up. But I hadn't tested the above graphic for scale yet.
