Larger party in SI

Hello,
When I defeated the Banes and resurrected them at Monk Isle I realized that I can lead 8 characters as Dupre, Shamino and Iolo don't complain about party size at joining. Later my party ruins as I have to pick up Sethys. After Sethys's death is it possible to control 8 characters again?

I believe there was a way to keep him in the party, much like Mortrego or whatever his name was. You pretty much have to kill him before he dies naturally, then use the hourglass when you are safely away. I think that's how it works, unless it has been fixed. Selina can be resurrected with the hourglass but I think she goes bonkers because of this so don't try talking to her.

Thanks, however I don't miss Sethys absolutely. What I miss is the party that I have after resurrecting the old pals: Avatar, Dupre, Shamino, Iolo, Petra, Boydon and 2 automatons. This formation ends when I have to pick up that loser Sethys.

kill dupre/shamino/or iolo (use the ritual bloodletting device thing to do this easier) and then add the automatons back to your party. Then, use the hourglass to bring back the others. Should work

That would be pretty awesome. Instead of having a party you could have an Avatar Army! I haven't tried how many party members Exult will let you have via cheat mode yet... I remember the original game got very cranky if you tried to add more than the limit.

One problem with having a larger party that you are supposed to is that you won't be able to use most vehicles, as you can only use those with all the party members seated. The extra party members will end up wandering back and forth amongst the filled seats, and you'll never actually get to take control of the craft.
With that said, I do find it curious that Filbercio's magic boat has six seats while the party maximum is five...

Hmmm never thought about that. I can't remember, would it have worked to place regular chairs on the barge to fit more people? I remember back in the day I'd use the hackmover and try to create super awesome Avatar rides haha.

If I place chairs on top of boats of flying carpets, they will choose to sit in these, and as long as they became seated, the vehicle would function.

Fortunetly SI doesn't have vehicles for day to day use. As a matter of fact Fibrico & Hawk's boat are the only ones I can think of. I usually ran around with a group of six ... mostly exploiting glitches that allowed me to ressurect Iolo Shamino & Dupre even while they were still banes, and another glitch that let me keep Stephano

there is also the ice barge and the turtle (which you can't use yourself)

well the ice burg can be piloted but that and the turtle can not be sat on.

There is also the elevator in the temple city (library), but I couldn't use telekinesis on it from above while it was below. Wonder if that one can be tweaked to become another magic carpet.
