xu4 - Status?

Hi,

I'm aware that is the Exult forum and not the xu4 forum, but as I can't find any infos on the actual status of the xu4 project I'd thought I might ask around on this board.

So I'd like to get xu4 running on a Macbook air with OS X 10.8.5.. But no luck so far. The official forum seems to be closed (you can't log in). Does anyone have experience with running xu4 on a modern day mac?

Doesn't the snapshot work? It should I'm doing that but haven't tested in ages whether it works

And yes, development is pretty much dead

Tried the last snapshot (2013-06-22) and it crashes right on startup.
Too bad. I used xu4 to replay U4 a few years ago, but then I used the windows-executable ...

Is there anything more written why it crashes? Also take a look at console.app.
Because it works fine for me.

Edit: Just tried with a fresh installation of 10.8.5 in a VM. XU4 works fine in that.

Another thing for you to try is to right click on the xu4 app, select info and make it run in 32bit.


Edit2: btw, the forum still works. You might have to login at sourceforge.net first then switch to the xu4 forum...

Thanks, I tried the 32bit tipp, but no joy so far.
I successfully logged in to sourceforge and managed to post the crashlog there (in case you might/have the time to take a look at it)
