Howdy all..I have a question if you may....

I am currently working on two projects you see, one of them is making an Ultima 7 Construction set and the other is making a game using DC. It was impossible working on both projects at the same time so I had to step aside one till the other is completed. You guessed it...I chose (http://www.geocities.com/foody52100/Zenardo.html <-- my web page) the game instead of Ultima 7 construction set.

So I am wondering if Exult anywhere headed toward a full blown stand-alone Ultima 7 construction set without the need of any Ultima 7 files? Or is it going to be just a hacking tool for both old game series ultima 7 and serpent isle? If this is inteded toward a full-blown maker is the event editor going to be simple click and play or do we have to scrip things like:

int main()
{
Char_Name = Party_member(NPC);
.....
.....

and so on?

Because my maker was toward to simple click and play event with power and all you had to do was create your story and draw your game of your dream with simple clicking of the mouse.

* Takes heavy breath and continues * It would be greatly appreciate if you guys enlighten me as to where this project is headed. * Looks left and right then whispers * you guys rock, keep up the good work.

Yours truly,
Fahed AL Daye

Yes, its goal is to be able to create new games without having to write any C/C++ code. However, one will have to write scripts for the game plot in a C-like language (our guess as to what the source for 'usecode' looks like).

Hmmm... Foody, make sure you've read the FAQ and documentation first, that may answer some of your queries.

As to making entirely new games without the need for U7 files... I hope they can do.

I wasn't sure if this question has been asked and time was hectic so I was unable to read the FAQ. But from my understanding it is going to be a difficult program to use because of it requires programming skill, while your goal toward making a full blown ultima 7 is a good goal...I am afraid it aint going to be easy to use...just because when it comes to making events it would require intensive programming skill. From my understanding in order for me to use the program I need a computer course taken at the university, now I don't see how people are going to enjoy making a full blown game like that.

Anyways you guys remain to do an awesome job and hope to hear a blessing news.

Any easier or harder than DC's event chains system? To be honest, I tend to find coding them in languages like C easier than using tools like that provided by DC, as I find them hard to use. Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages, Foody.

What's DC? Some kind of RPG (or general game?) construction set?

DungeonCraft is here: http://uaf.sourceforge.net/ If you've ever played Bard's Tale, or the Gold Box games, and used either the Construction Set or Unlimited Adventures, this is similar to them.

Let's see... that's no, no, no, and no. ;-)

I'll check out the homepage, though :-)

Well, I never played any of the Gold Box games myself. I've asked one of the DC artists, Lord Killjoy, to do Ultima-related artwork for DC. You may want to try asking him if he'd do artwork for Exult, too.

Damn, another Windows-only CRPG creator. I guess I'll still ahve to wait for Exult Studio after all. ;-)

It does look nice from the screenshots. I like the idea of having a GUI for creating scripts, but I don't know how easy theirs is to use.
