Update BG to BG+FoV

Hi all,
first of all a big 'thank you' for the good work you have done with exult - I really enjoy being able to play U7 with Linux
I started playing with a copy of BG only. I was finally able to get a copy of the complete U7, and installed the new static files. The only problem is: I always have to start a new journey, I can't simply 'journey onward' from my old saved games.
I had a look at the source: The problem seems to be caused by a difference in the 'identity': my saved games have the id "ULTIMA7', while the new static files have the id 'FORGE'. My current work around: start a new game, then load the old game (it seems that the ids are not checked when loading a game). So my questions are:
1) Is there a potential problem (either with exult or with the U7 plot) if I load a 'bg' game and continue with the 'FoV' data set? I wouldn't like to start all over again
2) If there isn't a problem (and this test is only used to avoid mixing a BG/FoV saved game with a SI saved game): maybe it is possible to change this test, so that 'FoV' saved games will work as expected, there shouldn't be too many different valid ids.
Again thanks for the good work!
