no SFX

Hi there.
Just installed Exult, and I’d like to say a big thank you to the people who put the time into giving a classic new life.
It’s great to see the game playable once more.
One issue though, i can’t toggle SFX on, it just remains on disabled.
The music seems fine, but no sound effects.
I downloaded the newest client and I use windows 7.
Any ideas?
