Ultima 7 Tribute

@@@ i got Permission from "Dominus_" to start a new topic @@@
(i assume this person is admin)
Introduction;
- call me "Skee".
* i am a long time fan & own the original of Ultima, specifically: U7, FOV & SI.
- i am approaching my 30's and live in UK and spend free time working with the unreal engine
* This post is to "gauge" interest and see who is active here, sorry for the wall of text.
What am i doing:
- Creating a game as close to U7 as possible
Why am i doing this:
- I played it when i was little, i hop onto it every now and again for nostalgia & no game has ever compared to this.
- i do not have the lifestyle or remaining years to become a fully professional games designer, BUT, i enjoy making stuff.
- i am currently developing another game and have worked for a team releasing a game on PS4 &3/PC/XBOXOne&360[this endly badly and NDA still LOL]
* i would now like to utilise my free time to build U7 and looking for 1 or 2 individuals interested in this project.
overview of skills
- i am intermediate overall, but have preferences and places i am more confident with, [textures/ level design, team management] and fail at [code, code and code]. No need to mention 3d/2d programmes, you probably are aware of all of them.
Ultima 7 remake
* preferably close to original
* solely a Tribute{non-profit}] and trying to avoid infringement as much as possible
- no 'original' U7 content may be used in the project but the entire game is based going to be based on it
* so far its a solo project but i am looking for activity on these forums.
- I MAY contact origin directly when the game is 90% complete
How am i doing this
- its been a few years on & off but i am now comfortable with the Unreal Engine
- Using UDK i can do all of the game myself but to an average [buggy] standard
- Using UE4 i cannot code in C++ but the entire game can be built without Code
Basically guys, i am doing it, its already started! the ideas in motion 2 years ago, and i have started the code and events + gathering what i need.
- Interested ????
1. First reply here.
2. be a REAL PERSON not a bot, not a critic or a nay-sayer
...and please provide some useful information, what you can do to help e.g, the key factor is we get along, have fun and stick to it to the end
- ^^ this is most important to me
** my current est. time for completion based on 1 person is 2 years.
- for 2 people - 1.4 yrs and with a coder and a 3d guy or 2d guy to take the load...less than a year for a beta without FOV or SI
Many Thanks for reading.
3. i would like to move this to another forum to not piss the admin off, i am an admin, i know the score
Note:
- I read the rules, i could not edit typo's
- i am not ready to post WiP's or personal emails but i am an admin of a another forum and i have cloud, server, forum, steam, skype and IRC options available to move this discussion off this forum.
- i did not want to start a new thread on a topic that really has nothing to do with Exult except, if it wasn't for exult and testing ultima 7 with exult 1 - 1.6 then i wouldn't be here and dominus said its ok.
