More magic carpet fun..

I seem to be having a similar problem with the Magic Carpet. Well, similar in that I can't get on to the carpet again.
Occasionally, when I land the carpet somewhere, and go away for a while, I come back, and attempt to board it again. All my extra characters rush on and sit down, but the Avatar doesn't.
If, on the other hand, I land in exactly the same spot, disembark, then immediately try to reboard, the Avatar starts moving to sit down. However, if, having tested that my landing's not broken like that, I move away for some time (whether it's time or distance I have yet to experiment with), and return, I can't board, with the same behaviour as above.
Once I'm in that situation, if I walk the avatar through the carpet, his legs disappear as though the carpet is hovering at ankle height.
Bizarre, really.
I've tried hack moving onto the carpet, in which case I can get the avatar to stand on it, rather than through it, but he still won't sit down.
The same with using alt-t to teleport onto it.
Finally, this behaviour only seems to have started just recently, and doesn't always happen. I'm hoping its not some sort of obscure savegame corruption.
Anyone else had this, or should I submit it as a new bug?
