Is it a known issue that if you save over a savegame multiple times, it will eventually corrupt?

I use a "current" listing in the save area, and I've discovered that if I save over it several times in a row, Exult will just quit and I will not be able to load that game again.

What do you mean by "in a row"? Immediately after eachother?

I can try it tonight. Are you saying that it happens regardless of where you are in the game?

I've tried it in several places in the game. The saves weren't immediately one after the other, but I did first notice the pattern when going through one Destard and saving every couple of kills. However I was most often able to repeat it when I tried saving over the same file several times in a row.

Are you sure that saving over the same savegame is indeed relevant? (and that it isn't that there is a small chance of saving going wrong, so that if you save very often, the problem has a bigger chance of showing itself)

Also, could you please email me a savegame from which you can reproduce this? If one of us can also manage to reproduce it, there's a big chance we'll be able to fix it.

I have this problem in only SI. After solving Silver Seed, I went to Moonshade. There I must escape from the dungeon of Freedom. When I try to save during or after the puzzle of levers and sliding doors, the game crashes and the save is corrupted - for example Stefano joins automatically when I load a game (after getting out), automatons have faces of GWANIS ... HELP ME!!!! I really want to finish the game!

Hm, this sounds somewhat familiar.

Please email one of us the last savegame you have that still works properly in that area.

I've been having similar problems -- I have some games that after being saved over a few times seem to have been corrupted. If you need any more sample saves, let me know and I'll send them your way.

I've also got a few that work in rc1 and not in rc2, but that's not necessarily as relevant, as obviously things have changed between the two.

That crash after the lever puzzle in Freedom has been plaguing us for months. The trouble is that none of us developers has been able to get it to happen, even though several of you are seeing it.
