u7si- traitors in monitor

i've been playing SI, and when I go back to Monitor after finding the Healm of Monitor and the scrolls detailing the involvement of Spektor and Marsten with the Goblins, I have trouble when I go tell Brendann about the traitors. Once I tell him, there's some dialogue in which he asks to see the documents, and then he calls for pikemen, and some walk up, and just stand there next to him, and then nothing much happens.

Is the game freezing at that point, or do they just appear to be standing around doing nothing while play otherwise continues? I think that was the normal behavior of the original - go check on whether the traitors are in jail following this event.

That happened in the original as well, the guards simply stand there, they don't go off, you have to move away from them and then you'll find that the traitors are locked up
Ultima 7 didn't have the best path finding I don't think, so it might have been hard for the guards to actually walk to the traitors.

I belive it assumes marsten and spektor are at the location that you are at at the time of the event rather than trying to hunt them down
