MP3's in the engine

Has there been any thought to incorporating the MP3's that have been made through conversions of the MIDI music into the game?

Also, does anyone know where to find MP3's of Ultima VIII music?

Thanks

Doug

The MP3s will be used in future versions of Exult. Actually they are OGG files and will be called "DigitalMusic" in Exult. The code for this, written by me, is already in the CVS, snapshots of the development code should be available soon, or you can get the code from the CVS and compile it yourself.

Wohooo! OGG, no evil MP3 patents here!

Just for reference (in case of any misunderstanding), this code is _not_ in RC2. So, like Mungo said, if you must have this feature 'yesterday', then you're going to have to comple it yourself, at least until the snapshots start being made again. *grin*

Uhm, why is it exactly that snapshots are no longer being made ?

We stopped making them just before RC2, and we're currently discussing on the exult-general ML how to setup the snapshots now we've got a 'really unstable' development tree and a 'stable' v1.0 tree. AFAIK, Kirben hasn't started making them again. Thus the comment. *grin*
