i dont know how to set up the config corectly so i can mod my game with sifixed and the documentation and the installer should make thoes folders and paths on install and im confused any advice or somthing i can copy and paste into my config and just chage the paths would realy be helpfull

Create a folder called "patch" in the main Serpent Isle directory and unpack the SiFixes there. But make sure you take all the SiFixes files out of the pre-package folders and place them into the patch folder. Delete the pre-package folders once you emty them into the patch folder.

Except create and use the folder named mods NOT patch

how do i set up the config so it reconises the mods and paths

If you put it in the right path you don't need to change the config.

i put it in the right folder but no dice

and there is nothing related to mods in the configed when i looked in it help but night for now

Please tell us where you installed SI to, where you put the mods folder and what is in it.
Also, please copy/paste your exult.cfg

Yes, where did you put the mods folder and what files and folders are in it?

C:\GOG Games\Ultima VII - Complete\SERPENT\mods
a folder called data 2 txt docs 2 image files

sory if im bothering you i just thought since the form is where all the brains of exult sleep i should throw my guardian in a bottle message of needed help with modding and such besides this may help others who got my problem

Yeah the mod is not correctly done. Download it from our download page and then extract the zip to the mods folder. It should be a file called sifixes.cfg and a folder called sifixes in there.

Incidently that's the instructions in our documentation...

i feal like an idiut i must have goten confused when i read it and miss read it and looking at an install gude on a fourm got me confused but i now know what i did wrong and i thank you for your asistance i hope your not mad

don't worry! In a perfect world you'd just need to drop the zip on Exult to make it work...

It could go either way.
But i notice when i put it in mods folder it still overrides the main and if i select the start up from the mods sections it runs the like its not patched. But is buggy.

Then there is something wrong how you do it. If you put it in patch the main game is always with si fixes. If you put in mods only a new game with the selected mod is modded.
It sounds as if you still have something in patch...
