This question is probably towards Colourless. I believe that you said some time ago that you had matched the full SI introduction (from Denis Loubet) up to where it could be added to the beginning of SI with the Guardian's face still talking in the castle.

If this is correct, when will it be added to SI? (after 1.0?)

No, it's not going to happen. At least there are no plans on doing it.

To me, the only things that would need to be done, would be to cut the scene with the Guardian's face (inside the castle) in the released version, and paste it into the "Deluxe" version, and also syncing the sound. Then there's tring to add it to the game after that...

I don't have video editing software to do that though

not only would you need to synch the sound, you would also need to make the music lasying longer... And the format of the intro in the game and the extended one are quite different so no easy way..
That~S why we wrote in the FAQ it's a no-no...

may I ask, if i would be able to produce the complete original intro, with speech, sound and music as an avi, would that be of any help, or would the problem of implementing it into Exult still be too difficult/time-consuming to undertake?
I did read the FAQ, I only don't know if 'Everyone volunteering to do it is welcome to.' means brushing up the intro (which I could do), or implementing into Exult (which I unfortunately cannot)

What about something a bit more *open* such as mpeg (I know avi's are mostly a wrapper, but let's use stuff that can be made available on all platforms).

As for giving the coice to play the alternate intro instead of the original, I'm sure someone of the team would give it a shot.
BUT:
what about the copyright issues? You would need to deal with EA, asking them to provide the alternate intro. As "brushing" it up would also mean, including the voice and music you would have to ask permission for that as well.
And you would need to ask the artist who has the full intro on his site the same.

I don't think you would have problems with the artist, but getting the okay from EA is like waiting for the pope to marry...

Yes, the copyright is indeed a problem. Well, the intro is not that important anyway.
Perhaps I'm going to try it, just for the fun of seeing it run on my computer (that shouldn't hurt EA).
