Ignitus mentioned a place in BG with a stone canopy where you got struck by
lightning. Does anyone have the coordinates for this place, or a general idea where
it is?
Thanks.

Chris, I asked this before I don't know if you saw it, but I noticed we have similiar IP's, are you from Tennessee(and do you use TDS as an internet provider)
Oh and I'll get you coordinates...
in decimal: 309, 1239.
in hex: 0135, 04d7

Yes to TDS, no to Tennesse. I'm in Wisconsin, actually.
When you get hit by lightning, what does the Avatar say in your games? Mine says
all manner of strange things, but I actually altered the files so the characters would
say more colorful things... My personal favorite is when you wake them up, sometimes
they yell "I was about to come!". The really weird thing is that I made all the changes
over the period of half-an-hour one afternoon last December, so I don't remember
what they were; hence I've laughed hardily at some of my own jokes.
What the Avatar said when she got struck by lightning:
Kelp!
Call my mommy!
Blow me.
Get your mitts off it!
Were any of these in the original, or were these my changes? I'm pretty sure the
last one was mine.

I disagree with you, IgnitusDragon, Black Gate DOES contain some pretty risky lines. For example, when the Guardian says, "Ye all shall kneel before me and give me a blowjob" near the end - that took me off guard the first time I played the game. Adult stuff like that wasn't widely accepted in computer games at the time. Just shows the many small ways in which the Ultima series influenced games like Kitty Kitty Bang Bang VI and The World of Pagan: The Rise of Eros.
Btw, a big Thank you mate! goes out to a bloke called Chris who lent me the game disks and allowed me to play this wonderful game!

Its risque not risky, and these:
"Kelp!"
"Call my mommy!"
"Blow me."
"Get your mitts off it!" - are not in the original my friend.
I'm hopeing your jokeing.
"I've done every guy on the team"- remember that from the quotes from BG? I thought it was hilarious.
Oh and I'll be calling up EA right now, telling them you and Chris are pirating games. Evil pirate bastards.

Risky as in potentially commercially unsound.
And yes, I was joking.

Lets turn this into a thread about the weird places in U7, we had one about mystery things. Now for mystery places, such as Sylvans, or what-ever his name is'ses tower in Yew, why was that there? and isit just me or was there a shortage of pirates in Buccaneers Den.

You mean Selwyn's tower? I was wondering about that myself. Also, how do you
get to that place where the rouge mages are plotting to kill Lord British and take
over Brittania? I remember something about an invisible stairway in a dungeon...

Oh I went there, theres a hole in the roof and junk.
A paladins up der too.
One of the sorcerereresses was exceedingly hot I thunk to me self.
Then theres the house on the island in the bay of Buccaneers Den, I mentioned that before though.
Then theres the thing with Spark, where the hell is is his parents?
I just don't think there is enough story to back up stuff in Ultima 7. It would keep my interest a long time if they humanized people more.

I think one big problem with both games is how totally unrealistic all the numbers of people are. I mean, there's like 10 mages in Moonshade but how many "rogue" mages are there roaming the dungeons everywhere? And correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you jumping into mad rogue mages all the time in Black Gate BEFORE you fixed the ether? So how did they get their magic to work?
And my REALLY big problem with Serpent Isle, which did quite a lot to spoil my enjoyment of it from the start: so you have this city CHOCK FULL of soldiers, and they've supposedly the biggest army in the known world, and all these people have just fought a gruesome bloody battle and lost the guard tower of Fawn to the evil goblin hordes. So far so good, sets up a great conflict. But THIS is NOT good: in YOU come, 4 guys equipped with some shitty armour, and the 4 of you can go and clean out the tower of Fawn without any problem whatsoever! And no-one even pays attention! And what's more, your party can single-handedly walk into the goblin camp and murder all of them without breaking sweat! Didn't those knight dudes think it at least SLIGHTLY odd that some 4 blokes came out of nowhere and chopped up the entire goblin army during one single night?
And in Black Gate: how does some bloke living "peacefully" in some silly hut in the "peaceful" forest of Yew ("away from the noise of the cities", eh?) manage to survive with all those armed robbers and berserk mages roaming about the place the whole time? I mean, who do those robbers rob if not those few humans living there? And how on EARTH can you consider a forest where you have some evil dudes making camp on every second clearing PEACEFUL????

I like the enviroment of Yew, you never know when your going to run into a mad dragon with bad eye sight and a smell for avatar-loins.
If you clean out the camp(which mostly has citizens not warriors) then you need a good level, you can't just jump in with 12hp and kill them all.
Plus, you get the Helm Of Courage around there, I guess the people of Monitor consider you to be pretty good if your Knight Champion and all that.
They should reward you though.

"Then theres the thing with Spark, where the hell is is his parents?"
Did you miss the whole part in the beginning of the game about Spark's dad being cut into pieces in a sacrifice?
Bucaneer's Den is definately lacking in population.
Regarding strange places in U7, what about the shack w/ the dead chickens and the lock-pick key on the little island by Jhelom? Or that weird green X w/ the treasure chest and all the stuff in it and the Guardian saying creepy stuff backwards that I can't understand?

Well actually I got Iolo's apprentice mixed up with Spark.
I can't even remember the apprentice's name now, damn and I've made fun of him so much...
