Possible Silver Seed exult bug

Hi. I'm trying to finish The Seprent Seed and I seem to of hit an Exult bug--either that,
or I don't know what I am doing anymore...which is certainly possible.
This bug is "different" as most bugs I have hit have been clearly usecode bugs.
In order to place the four orbs in the keep, I need to walk down the stairway hidden behind a wine cask in the lab. But I can't walk through or around the wine cask, nor can I move it. Is this a bug, or is there a plot element I've forgotten?
I can, of course, enable hackmover and drag it out of the way. But that is clearly undesirable.
Also, there is a second bug which I suspect is in the usecode...if I click on the
pillars in the room where Isstanar hangs out, I find myself in the test of King Zhelkas (in part of the game I have yet to reach). Has anyone else seen this problem?
Thanks Exult team, for resurrecting the two best RPGs ever made. Perhaps one day we can recreate Ultima III-VI using this engine...imagine how Exodus could look, and the hidden city of Dawn...excuse me while I power up my Atari 800....
