If the game is a CD version, which I assume it it, you won't need to install the game.
If you are using an Ultima Collection CD, you can copy the games straight off the cd from the ULTIMA7 and SERPENT directories.
If tou are using a Complete Ultima 7 CD all you need to do is unzip thte ultima7.zip and serpent.zip files that are in the root dir of the cd.

Could you post a file listing of the floppy disks? Maybe someone can figure out a way to extract the files manually.

Here are the files on the floppys. I now have all the files copied to my Hard Drive.
The Files on:
Disk 1:INSTALL.EXE INSTALL.PRM PKUNZIP.EXE U7DISK00
Disk 2:U7DISK01
Disk 3:U7DISK02 U7DISK10
Disk 4:U7DISK11
Disk 5:U7DISK12 U7DISK20
Disk 6:U7DISK21

I'm guessing that PKUNZIP.EXE is the smoking gun here. Try de-compressing the file with your compression program of choice.

IIRC the proceedure is to concatinate:
U7DISK00 + U7DISK01 + U7DISK02 to u7disk0.zip
U7DISK10 + U7DISK11 + U7DISK12 to u7disk1.zip
U7DISK20 + U7DISK21 to u7disk2.zip
Then use pkzip/winzip/zip/whatever to unzip the files. I can't remember if you need to shuffle them into the appropriate STATIC directories or not, I guess you'll find out soon enough. *grin*

Darke, I was wondering how to add the files together and unzip them without access to a PC.
xbow, whene I try to decompress the file in Stuffit it nothing happens.
THANK YOU so much for helping me threw this problem Ultima 7 sounds like a great game.

PKUNZIP.EXE *IS* the decompression program isn't it? Well, that doesn't matter if you can't run it. Doesn't MAC have file utilities so you can add files together?

Hmm... I know how to handle it easily under windows/unix, but I've no idea with the mac unfortunately. But surely they'd be .zip decompression utilities for the platform? And I'd guess you could concat the files with a hex editor.

Sorry Steve, I was a bit curt and didn't write it out
About those commercial Dos-Emulators, don't they offer a free trial period? It might be worth checking this out.

The files are zipped. Believe me they are.
Darke's instructions are correct: have you concatenated the files ?

Nadir, thinking about it, it might actually be an idea to create an small program that will properly concatenate the files and then unzip them. The Exult source does contain the functions to decompres zip files.

Steve123456, Is this MacOS X ?
If so then you have access to a unix shell from which you can concatenate files using "cat"
