I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with, or is involved with, the Ultima 5: Lazarus project, the one that is developing a U5 mod for the Dungeon Siege engine.
I just noticed that Dungeon Siege is going to be ported to Mac OS X, and I would love to know if this will open the door for a Mac port of this Mod. From their site, it looks like they are going to be using a standard Windows-based installer that will actually look for the original DOS U5 files on the user's HD before installing (for legal purposes only). However, I actually own the Ultima collection, so I have those files. Does anyone know if there is a chance, good or bad, that they would adapt this mod for Mac?
I checked their site, but the forum is down and I was unable to address this question to them.
Anyone here familiar with U5:Lazarus?

Anyhoo,
I would assume that data files such as mods would be OS independant. So, as long as you have DS, you would be able to play any mod someone may make.

Bit of a cryptic response, but the smiley makes gives me hope for good news. So I'll ask again tomorrow.
Or someone could just post a response tomorrow

I meant wait unitl tomorrow and see if the Lazarus site is up again.
Re: Anyone here familiar with U5:Lazarus?
Oh. Darn. You had me going. Curse you.
Well, the site is up but, due to construction, the forum is shut down. I don't think it will be up tomorrow, though.
Still, maybe there is hope. The single player (even multiplayer) experience that ships with DS looks pretty boring to me though, visually, the game looks stunning. U5: Lazarus is honestly the only reason I would consider purchasing this game. That, and any other TRUE RPG mods that people may make. I hate Diablo-like action oriented games that call themselves RPG's. Ah, for the days when Ultima was new. Sigh.

If you're desperate for the info, try asking on the Horizon's web board. It's the casual hangout of a bunch of the Lazarus team.
