Converting savegames between platforms (Windows->Zaurus)

Are saved games transferred between various platforms supposed to work? I've been playing Exult on my Windows ME machine and got rather far. However, now I'd like to start playing it on my Zaurus. I tried copying the *.sav files over, and exult sees the files. However, it tells me, "Unreadable Savegame" and doesn't allow me to load it.
The zaurus is running Exult version 1.1.0CVS.
Windows is running Exult version 0.99.1RC2
Is there some trick to getting this to work?

There is a little thing in the TODO list: support for zipped savegame for the zaurus. I haven't found any zip library precompiled for zaurus so it's not yet supported.
In order to use your savegames, edit the exult.cfg from your windows box and edit it so that you read the line:
0
Exult windows should be able to read it still. Now save the game and copy that savegame to the zaurus. It should work good (I tried it myself).
Happy playing!

well, I'm finaly building the package with zlib support. This means that as soon as the zaurus package from the download section gets updated, it will be able to play your savegames right off the bat!
I'll post a note when the package will be pushed.

Heh, thanks. Changing the save_compression_level actually worked. But its still nice to have support for zip savegames since the Zaurus does have limited drive space.
