No way to convert old games?

Hey, I've known that there is no way to use your old BG and SI saved games in Exult because its a dif format. But is there any way that the old games can be converted to the Exult format? If there isn't a way already would it be possible at all if someone put some thought into it?

There is some documentation on the old format in 'u7tech.txt' in our 'docs' directory. So a volunteer who likes a challenge could try to write a converter. I just don't think any of us are willing to do it.
